Happy 37th Anniversary

Today marks the 37th year of my parents marriage. A few years ago I had the pleasure of doing a mini session for them both. This is one of my favorite images from that day.

My brother and sister-in-law came to visit a few weeks ago and one afternoon we swung out to our backyard to grab a few maternity pics of baby #2. This time its a GIRL! I can’t wait to meet this sweet one. Only a few more weeks! During our mini session, my favorite little man decided to join us. I just love my nephew so much! Enjoy.

If only little “O” knew how much he was loved! Good news he has years to learn of all the family and friends that have long expected his little face. The thrill he gave everyone when they heard he had red hair and blue eyes! Just like his daddy.

Abby and Jared are some of our dear friends and I had the pleasure of capturing this little one’s first days while I was in Dallas for a brief business trip. I’m sad we don’t live close by anymore. Abby, I would come and babysit anytime!

Phillip was out of town on business and as a surprise for when he got back, Cami wanted to update his office with new family pictures. I went to their home for a quick visit one evening and we got some great shots! Who knew three little blonde boys would be so cute and cooperative for us to take their picture! Phillip is now back and has a new office… with new pictures of his boys and his beautiful bride. Thanks for asking me to take their pictures, Cami! What a joy.

Cheap Photographers Only Kill Themselves, not the Industry

My brother, Chris, is the best photojournalist I know and has taught me almost everything I know about photography. He recently sent me a link to this post. Very insightful and every photographer should read.

You must ask yourself, “What’s my time worth”. For now, photography is my hobby, therefore I don’t need it to put food on the table. But eventually this will be my stay-at-home-mom job, so I read, shoot, edit, and ask questions as much as possible. Can’t wait till one day I can be full-time with the hobby I love.

Kate’s Maternity | I’m gonna be an aunt!

Last month, JT and I rendezvoused with my brother Charlie and his wife Kate in Louisville, KY. We had the best time together! And the best bonus was that Kate had perfectly just hit her 8th month of pregnancy (for you fellow photogs out there, the best time to take maternity pics is between the late 7th to early 8th month).

Even though it was a pretty overcast day… and FREEZING, we were able to get some good shots. The best part about the whole session was how much Charlie was making us all laugh. My favorite thing about being around Charlie is I can always count on laughing hysterically. At least we know this little one is coming into a family of laughter! This is the first grand-baby on both sides, and I am SO excited to be an aunt. Wahoo!

We know that Baby S is a boy… but the name is a secret! Of which I cannot wait to find out on April 19th… or hopefully sooner I can’t wait to meet him.
